Someone should make an app!
When I see a patient for the first time, being able to obtain information is sometimes difficult. There are many details to communicate and relay to a healthcare professional, but that’s why we have medical records.
With all the technology, why is it we can’t carry this record in our cell phone?
Someone should make an app!
This app would place all medical information into an organized folder, just like a physician does in the office record. Any time you have a doctor visit, hospitalization, or recent study, you take a photo, scan, or AirDrop the document and it is arranged into a designated area of your phone app file.
If you are seeing a new doctor or referred to a specialist, there is easy access to medical information. Importantly, if you travel and become ill and seen in an emergency room, you have a list of allergies, medication, medical and surgical problems, recent progress notes, lab tests, EKG, and x-rays.
Should you be unconscious or unable to give reliable information, there could be a code for first responders to open the phone and app.
Okay techies, make an app!
