Doctor’s Diary September 21, 2017: Lie Detector

(Snippets from the frontline)

Lie Detector

Innocent prisoners of color pack our jails because they are poor and had no access to reasonable legal representation.

Wall Street bankers responsible for billions of lost dollars in 2008 have never been held accountable.

How do we solve this problem?  Have an accurate lie detector.

The polygraph is admissible in court yet has limited 70-90% accuracy.  But with technology, we now have fMRI – functional MRI – which is a video of your brain.  It already is being used as a lie detector, but is not admissible in court although it is reported 90-95% accurate.

Solution:  Combine them together to improve and supplement their accuracy and sensitivity closer to 100%.  Researching this possibility might succeed in holding everyone accountable.

Of course certain politicians, CEOs, white-collar criminals, and some attorneys will block the use of this technology as it will effect their livelihood.

What kind of world would it be if everyone, even if forced, must tell the truth?

Instead of today’s fancy technology, Diogees , some 2000+ years ago used a lantern in quest of finding an honest man.
