Doctor’s Diary October 15, 2017: Corralling Votes

Corralling votes

The first objective of newly elected legislators is to get re-elected.  Therefore in their crosshairs from the outset are two goals:

1) Expand campaign coffers from special interest donors; and

2) Go lock-step with their political party and have personal beliefs muzzled while ignoring the voice of constituents.

It doesn’t matter if you are politically on the left or right, lobby money and partisan affiliation dictates how your representative votes.

Do you wonder why healthcare and other legislation is stagnant?  There is no debate as donors are payed back by legislators who insert favorable wording into law for mutual financial benefit.

Sure, your personal vote comes at the ballot box, but this effort is voided as the vote of legislators are corralled by a corrupted system of power and greed.

Our forefathers and foremothers are rolling over in their graves.
