COVID-19/BLM:  My Anthony Fauci ‘do

After the 1976 Winter Olympics where Dorothy Hamill won her ice skating Gold Medal, many young women out of admiration cut their hair in her style.  I did the same recently in respect to NIH Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

He opened this years baseball season throwing out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals game, but recently he’s been ardently tip-toeing through false information bringing clarity to the American people.  He is a brave soul, and my hero.

We are both scientists with MDs, born in New York City.  Ours fathers went to the same college (Columbia), and both our grandfathers came from Italy and were named Giovanni.  But for decades in his role with the NIH, he has advised Presidents with important information directing national health policy for our country.

His real sport was basketball, with baseball being only secondary.  He is 5’7”, and slowly my osteoporosis will allow me to even be his height.  I can’t wait!

My ‘do is close to his recognized haircut, but I cannot ever meet the stature nor intellect of this national treasure.

I trust his word and know for certain, he will never throw us a curve ball!

Gene Uzawa Dorio, M.D.
