COVID-19/BLM:  To serve man

The 1960s science fiction TV series The Twilight Zone occasionally had unexpected twists ending the show.

In one unforgettable episode, visitors from outer space arrived on earth bringing peace and goodwill to our world wrapped in a cryptic book entitled “To Serve Man.” Comfortable and confident, earthlings lined up and boarded spacecrafts to visit a new planet, but at show’s end the book translation revealed it was a cookbook!  Yum.

2020 has brought with it a new virus, and researchers have learned with the help from science fiction to efficiently and effectively deal with threatening disasters.  Vaccines have been developed at “warp speed”, and supply chains and distribution plans have been established.

We no longer ignorantly stand in line as part of a recipe in a cookbook.

Mankind is capable of recognizing and adapting to whatever Mother Nature and the universe throw at us, and we will continue to move forward.

There are those who believe in science fiction, but I believe in science.  Therefore I will receive the vaccine.

Let’s get in line.
